There’s a number of “Multimedia PC” titles that are like this and a few games around 94ish era. Most importantly, this device is supposed to deliver comprehensive Spectrum fun with the convenience of modern interfaces like HDMI and USB, birli well birli the fully functioning replica keyboard – so you could perhaps prod in your own Sinclair BASIC games.

It’s a great piece of macun – I own one myself and love it – but at a few hundred pounds it’s very much a specialist device.

If you go back far enough you’re going to find that even mundane stuff is expensive and increasingly hard to get. A CRT that supports RGBI/CGA for example will run you a few hundred bucks, plus a substantial amount for shipping because those suckers are fragile and *heavy*. Honest-to-god mechanical hard drives sevimli and will just drop dead for no apparent reason.

Overall, the device looks good, and appears to be a comprehensive retro offering, but we would hold back for reviews looking for mentions of any audio / visual glitches, and whether a joystick/joypad is indeed bundled. Some retro-focused channels indicate the official launch will be this Tuesday, but remember that availability isn’t scheduled until Nov 22.
